I love this photo. This woman looked so content and happy riding her bicycle along a quiet, tree-covered street in Shanghai. When I shot this, she was in her own world, completely focused on wherever it was she was going. And I love that her lipstick matched both her bike and her dress.
Shanghai can be maddening. The crowds. The traffic. The noise. The incessant fake-handbag hawkers. All five senses are constantly overloaded. So it’s nice to escape the chaos, at least for a few hours—or, better yet, a few days.
